ECBCS CELEBRATES 50 YEARS OCTOBER 18th-19th, 2024
Dr. Pamela Davis affectionately known as Dr. Pam, began her early education in the public
school system in Washington, DC. Her education continued with matriculation through The
Johns Hopkins University, Howard University College of Medicine, and Charles R. Drew
University of Medicine and Science for her post-graduate studies. Her early career concentrated
on the clinical practice of medicine with a focus on pain management and women’s health. After
three decades of practice in the community, she retired from the practice of anesthesia and began
other endeavors.
Dr. Davis is the proud mother of four successful daughters, and she enjoys spending time with
her 5 grandchildren. She has been a member of Christ Our Redeemer A.M.E Church in Irvine,
CA. since 2011, where she enjoys mentoring, teaching adult Sunday school, and participating in
the Music and Worship Arts ministries including singing, dancing, and dramatic presentations.
Her greatest passions are the love of Christ and family.
Having a genuine love for learning, history, and theology she was encouraged by her mentor and
advisor, Rev. Dr. Richard Rose, to pursue further study in the Department of Philosophy and
Religion at The University of Lavern where she is currently enrolled. This exposure changed the
trajectory of her retirement to include civic engagement, emphasizing the support and instruction
of young people following in the foundational pathway of such freedom fighters as Dr. Martin
Luther King, Jr, Fanny Lou Hammer, and Dorothy Height. These are but a few of the leaders of
our contemporary struggles. Having experienced many of the struggles for freedom in real time,
she can now serve as a bridge helping to shape the rights of passage for future leaders, teachers,
warriors, and engineers of the Beloved Community.
